Digital Sculpture
Week 1
Labeled Diagram of a Female (left) and Male (right) skull
Main Differences between a Male and Female skull are:
- Superciliary arches (blue) are much more pronounced on the male skull
- Gonial Angle (orange) is more acute, closer to 90°, on the male skull
- Males tend to have a more defined jawline while Females tend to have a softer jawline
- Males skulls also have a much steeper frontal bone
Very first attempt at sculpting a face
Week 2 - Nose
Labeled Diagram of the nose
The Nose is mostly made up of the cartilages labeled above, with the bone only making up a small proportion of it. The bone sets the initial shape of the nose, with the rest determened by cartilage and fats.

Nose Final Sculpt
For my final sculpt I made sure to make the nasal bone more prominant to make sure the nose looked like it was a part of a bigger skull.
Week 3 - Mouth
Labeled Diagram of the mouth
Labeled Diagram of the teeth
Marionette Lines appear where the upper and lower lip meet.
The construction of the lips is obvious on images of babies as they have only just formed

Sclera Bump
Using simple textured spheres in Maya you can create convincing realistic eyeball.
For the Iris first create a sphere and remove the back half of it. Then use soft select to flatten the front of the sphere. Add the texture and bump map and align them using UV mapping.
For sclera you can use a sphere with the front slightly enlarged using the soft select tool, then add the textures and fade them out using a ramp on the transmission
Villian Moodboard
For my villain, I am doing a High Elf as I thought working on the ears would be interesting. He should have chiseled features and the classic elf ears.
The Ear
Attempt 1
Attempt 2
For the ear I've tried to continue to follow all of the rules of a normal human ear but with the helix extended upwards to a point, like an elf.
Skin Pores
Adding Fat
The previous version of my villain had little fat, which gave his skin a "loose" feeling. Adding some fat around his cheeks help resolve this.
XGen Hair Attempt
My rather bad first attempt using various modifiers like Clumping and Coil.
My second attempt
